Spring in the Treasure Valley is a beautiful time of year. As the snow melts, the area becomes alive with blooming flowers, outdoor activities, festivals, and community events. Below you will find information on our favorite spring activities!

Parks and Trails

The region is home to several parks and trails. Making it the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors especially during the spring months. You can go hiking in the Boise Foothills, take a bike ride along the Boise River Greenbelt, or enjoy a picnic at one of the many beautiful parks including; Julia Davis Park, which features a rose garden and duck pond, Ann Morrison ParkMeridian Settlers Park, and Kathryn Albertson Park.

Festivals and Events

Treasure Valley hosts several festivals and events in the spring, including the Treefort Music Fest in late March, which features over 400 bands and performers, the Idaho Horse ExpoMeridian Dairy Days, and the Boise Flower and Garden Show. There’s also several Farmers Markets, where you can sample fresh local produce, and artisanal foods and more.

Golf

Treasure Valley has several golf courses, many of which open in the spring. Golfers can enjoy the mild weather and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. There are many public, semi-private, and private courses. Museums and Historical Sites

The Treasure Valley is home to several historic sites, including the Old Idaho Penitentiary, the Basque Block, and the Warhawk Air Museum. These sites offer a glimpse into the region’s past and are perfect for history buffs. There are several museums in the area, including the Boise Art Museum, which showcases contemporary art, the Idaho State Historical Museum, which highlights the state’s history, and the Discovery Center of Idaho – an interactive science museum with hands-on exhibits that focus on STEM topics.

Wineries and Breweries

Treasure Valley has a growing wine and beer industry, with several wineries and breweries located in the region. You can take a tour, taste local wines and beers, and enjoy the beautiful spring scenery. April is Idaho Craft Beer Month, show your support by choosing one of the many Idaho brews this month! A few great local breweries include, Boise Brewing, Payette Brewing Company, Woodland Empire Ale Craft, Cloud 9 Brewery, Barbarian Brewing, Crooked Fence Brewing, and White Dog Brewing Company.

Cinder Winery: Located in Garden City, Cinder Winery is known for its bold and complex wines, including its popular Syrah and Tempranillo blends. The tasting room features a modern and industrial design, and visitors can enjoy wine flights and snacks.

Coiled Wines: A boutique winery located in Garden City that specializes in Riesling, Syrah, and Tempranillo. The winery is known for its unique winemaking techniques, such as aging wines in concrete eggs, and offers a cozy tasting room with friendly staff.

Telaya Wine Co.: Located in Garden City, just a few blocks from the Boise River. The winery specializes in Rhône varietals and blends, and offers a spacious tasting room with a patio overlooking the river.

Sawtooth Winery: Located in Nampa, the winery is known for its award-winning Rieslings and also produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The tasting room features a beautiful patio with views of the surrounding vineyards

Bitner Vineyards: Located in Caldwell, Bitner specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay, and offers a peaceful setting with views of the Owyhee Mountains.

Williamson Orchards and Vineyards: Located in Caldwell and features a tasting room overlooking the Snake River. The winery produces a variety of wines, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling, as well as hard ciders.
